Terms of use

Version 2026-10-25 · Player One is run by enios · Alpha: Player One is being tested with a first group of people, and these terms say what that means.

In short

  • You must be 13 or older. Under 18, a parent or guardian agrees for you.
  • Your games stay yours. You let us host, run, film and show them on Player One, and let players play them.
  • Publish only what you have the right to publish, and keep to the community rules: nothing illegal, hateful, sexual, harmful or deceptive, and some of every game is always free to play.
  • Games can earn from extras; we keep a platform fee that depends on your plan, and the rest is yours.
  • We can take down content that breaks the rules. Repeated copyright complaints close an account. You can always appeal.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using Player One you agree to these terms. If you use Player One for an organisation, you agree for it. If we change the terms in a way that matters, we tell you on the site and ask you to agree again before you carry on; the version above says which text you agreed to.

2. Your account

One person, one account, used for playing and making. Give a working e-mail address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if someone else gets into your account. Your handle is public; it must not impersonate anyone or mislead. You are responsible for what happens on your account.

3. Playing and voting

Votes rank the leaderboard, so they must be honest: one person, one vote per game, given by playing it. Buying, trading or automating votes, using several accounts, or arranging votes in groups is not allowed; we can remove such votes and the accounts behind them.

4. Your games and what you upload

You keep every right you have in the games you make, the code, art, sound and text you upload or import, and what the studio makes for you (to the extent the law gives anyone rights in it). Nothing here transfers ownership to us.

So that Player One can work, you give enios a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, build, run, display and distribute your game and its materials on Player One, to record gameplay clips and stills, and to show them on the leaderboard and to promote Player One. You also let every player play your published game on Player One. These licences end when you remove the game, except for copies we keep for a short time in backups, for legal reasons, or in clips already shared.

You confirm that you have the rights to everything you publish, including licences for open-source code, fonts, sounds and art (keep their notices), and that it does not break anyone's rights or the law.

5. Making with the studio

The studio's agent writes code and art from your requests. It can be wrong: test your game before you publish it, and you are responsible for what you publish. Each turn counts against your plan. Files you attach and repositories you import are scanned and can be refused; they are treated as material, never as instructions to the studio. Do not use the studio to attack, probe or overload Player One or anyone else.

6. Community rules

Player One is open to people 13 and older. Games, titles, taglines, clips, comments and handles must not contain or promote:

Every game must be playable for free: extras (levels, equipment, modes, merchandise) may be sold, but the first play may never be locked behind a payment.

7. Earning from your games

A published game can offer extras through Player One. Prices include any taxes we must collect. From each sale we keep the platform fee of your plan when the sale is made (Free 30%, Maker 20%, Studio 12%, Pro 8%) and payment costs; the rest is yours. Payouts start when card payments open on Player One, to a verified payout account, once your balance passes the minimum shown there. You are responsible for your own taxes. Refunds and chargebacks are taken from the earnings of the sale they concern. Earnings from votes, plays or sales that break these terms are not paid.

8. Paid plans

Paid plans are billed per month in advance and renew until you cancel; cancelling keeps the plan until the end of the paid month. Prices can change with a month's notice. Unused runs do not carry over.

9. Copyright complaints and strikes

We respond to notices of claimed copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). Send a notice with your physical or electronic signature, the work you say is infringed, the game's address, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized, and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. We take the game down and tell its maker, who can send a counter-notice under the same law; if they do and you do not file a court action within 10 to 14 business days, we may restore it. A valid notice is a strike on the maker's account; a strike expires after 90 days, and three strikes at once close the account and remove its games, as repeat infringers' accounts are closed. Knowingly false notices or counter-notices can make you liable for damages.

10. Moderation and appeals

Titles and taglines are checked before a game is listed, and anyone can report a game. We can hide, delist or remove content, remove votes or comments, limit features, or suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, telling you why unless the law or someone's safety prevents it. You can appeal any decision; a person reviews it.

11. The alpha

While Player One is in alpha, features change, things break, and we may need to reset parts of the service. We keep published games and accounts unless we tell you otherwise. Feedback you send can be used to improve Player One without payment to you. Alpha testers keep the Alpha badge.

12. Privacy

We keep what Player One needs: your e-mail address, handle, password (hashed), plan, games, votes and studio conversations, and payment records. Games cannot see who you are. We do not sell or share personal data for advertising. Player One is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them; if we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we delete it. You can ask for a copy of your data or to close your account and have it deleted, apart from what the law requires us to keep; residents of states with privacy laws (such as California) have the rights those laws give them.

13. Ending

You can close your account at any time. We can close accounts that break these terms or the law, or end Player One with reasonable notice; you can then take your games with you.

14. Warranties and liability

Player One is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we give no warranty that it is uninterrupted or free of errors, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited. You will cover our costs from claims caused by content you published or by your breach of these terms.

15. Law

These terms are governed by the federal laws of the United States of America and the laws of the state where enios is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts in that state decide disputes, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you live outside the United States, this does not take away protections the law of your own country gives you as a consumer.
